Dr. Medlin is known to be versatile, hard-working, and admired by his colleagues and patients, alike. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he travelled to Florida to pursue medical school, and has been practicing here ever since. Growing fond of Central Florida and recognizing the strong need for mental health care here, he desired to be part of the solution. He diversified himself quickly to touch as many lives as he could, by working in various clinical settings, including acute inpatient, behavioral health centers, substance abuse centers, tele-psychiatry, and correctional medicine facilities in the area. He treats a wide range of psychiatric disorders utilizing a comprehensive approach. He has a keen modality for integrating active listening, evidence based medicines, and appropriate counseling referrals to effectively care for his patient’s mental needs, that is applicable to each clinical setting. His current colleagues consider him a true asset to any team and patients are drawn to his kind and calm nature. He is always interested in learning and exploring new ventures, both, in and outside of psychiatry. During his spare time, he enjoys water sports, football games, studying and playing his guitar, and, most recently, tried dog sledding where he came face to face with a Moose. With his ambitions, he is confident he will contribute to helping those of Lake Nona with their mental health.
“I advocate for those who suffer from mental health and coach them to success.”
